All Plastic Canisters Are Not The Same
Our new 83mm towel-wipe lid has a larger towel tail recessed well area than other 83mm lids on the market and by locating the towel orifice at the back of the recessed well allows the lid to be closed on a longer towel tail without the consumer having to stuff the tail into a small area.
 Having the towel orifice located at the back of the recessed well also allows a very easy reach in for the next towel by the end user and our lid also has a very easy to reach lift tab.
Another feature of our new 83mm design allows the use of standard induction seals if a true hermetic seal is required for product stability.
Our lid will also accept a seal to be used as a standard mechanical seal for additional product protection during distribution and for shelf life.
We can customize the towel orifice for size and shape to allow the best possible perforated towel tail separations for various wipe sizes, substrates, solutions and/or perforated patterns.
Our new design will allow for some product definition in the market and we can supply custom colors as well as standard colors.
NO - all canisters are not the same. As a matter of fact there can be a vast difference. It's those differences that make Sho-Me Container the industry leader in wide mouth canisters. An exclusive 120mm wide mouth canister with the three lead thread design has the strength and holding power that's needed in the wide mouth container. Plus, the unique design offers the uniform tightness to provide a positive seal all the way around the lid for added freshness.
Available in heights from 3 1/2" up to 12". These high-density polyethylene and polyethylene teraphthalate wide mouth canisters are used for everything from soup to nuts. Food products, nutrients, hair products, chemicals, and even medicines are popular uses.
The unique design provides a modern appearance with user-friendly benefits. The label protector ring helps to assure that a shrink band will stay in place around the canister. It won't come off in one piece with the lid when it is unscrewed. Plus, the ring will keep the printed labels or decals from rubbing together while in transit. This method virtually guarantees a tamper proof container, as the lid and shrink band cannot be reassembled on the canister. The label protector ring also does as its name suggests, and protects the label from damage, so the product is always displayed in a professional manner.
The canister design also allows them to be neatly stacked, while reducing the likelihood of falling. Each canister bottom nestles securely within the lid of the one below it, so it won't slide off. Lids are made of High Density Polypropylene, which provides a nice shiny surface for higher customer appeal.
Plus, the 120mm lids are designed with positive grip ribs so the canisters can be easily opened. They're much easier to grip than competitors slick lids, even for those with small hands. A secure feeling allows canisters to be opened easily and helps prevent spillage on the associated mess. Lids are available in a variety of standard colors for consumer appeal and product identification. Colors include red, white, yellow, blue, green, orange, brown and black. Custom colors can also be produced upon request. In addition, company name or logos can be embossed into the lid for further identity.
A variety of lid seals are available to match any application, including pressure sensitive ps22, foam, heat-induction foil, F217 Sure-seal, or F219 (a thicker plastic seal to safely contain infectious cultures or other commodities). Sho-Me Containers unique die shape helps seal with sharp corners, and allows the seal to fit firmly in the lid. Round seals as commonly found in lids can be difficult to retain.
Sho-Me Container also manufacturers other small canisters in 89mm and 100mm diameters. From 3 ½" to over 10" high. These canisters utilize similar features with a single thread canister in the design. Like their companions, the small wide-mouth containers are made with High Density Polyethylene and are stocked in the standard white color. These FDA acceptable resins are perfect for most food products, chemicals and powders.
Production of all Sho-Me Containers is done in a clean, automated processing system that conforms to the cleanliness of a food processing operation. Virgin material is stored in a sealed bin where it is fed through an automated mixer. The mixer combines the virgin material, regrinds the material from tails and tops and color in a precisely weighted mixture and sends it to the blow-molding machine.
The high production 4 cavity blow-molding machines heat the material and mold it to exact specifications. The body is formed, the tops and tails are trimmed, and the canister is discharged into the packing area. It's all done automatically, to maintain the highest quality and cleanliness standards possible. Canister size specifications are easily changed, as spacers are all that are required to change the height of the canister. Simply add or delete spacers and the change is made. Custom or special order canisters can also be competitively reduced because of the high efficiency and versatility of these state of the art blow-molding machines.
Upon completion each container is then routed to the packing area where it is thoroughly inspected and packed in cartons for shipment. Are cartons are plastic lined for added protection and to maintain the cleanliness of the product.
Sho-Me also provides complete labeling services for customer convenience. Automated labelers apply pressure sensitive labels quickly and accurately as they travel to the packing area.
Labels can be provided by the client or printed on Sho-Me's own 4-color press. Four color process is a system where a color image is separated into 4 different color values by the use of filters and screens. The result is a color separation of 4 images that when transferred to printing plates and printed on a printing press with the colored inks cyan (blue), magenta (Red), yellow and black, reproduces the original color image.
The use of color in printing increases readership and information retention. Studies in a major publication revealed that the use of color increased readership by 40% or more. A university study showed a 65% increase in the retention of material when full color was used instead of black and white.
A large custom silk screening machine applies the message directly to the canister for longer life, durability and a complete packaged look. Sho-Me only uses UV inks, which provide a shiny wet look, which is generally preferred over the dull finish of oil based inks. This sophisticated press can easily produce very intricate detailed reproductions in 1, 2, 3 or 4 colors. Whether a thousand units or a million units, makes no difference as the detail is easily maintained. Sho-Me also does custom silk-screening on other manufacturers bottles as the silk-screen machine will accommodate a large variety of canister sizes and styles.
Upon completion, canisters are packed into cartons, labeled and moved to the large warehouse area where they are stored for shipment. UPS, LTL, truckload and container (ocean) for overseas shipments are made on a daily basis for on-time delivery.
Sho-Me also maintains a moderate inventory of standard size canisters for quick deliveries to solve those unanticipated demands. The standard product line includes Polyethylene Wide Mouth Canisters in 120mm, 100 mm and 89mm diameters with heights from 3" to 12" tall and lids in 8 colors. Specialty products include 24 oz cylinders with a choice of closures plus, Sho-Me has the ability to produce a wide range of custom colors and products to meet a variety of needs.
